Community Grants in 2006: $504,000 in local grants, $113,606 to Komen National Breast Cancer Research program

  • 9 new RFTC sponsors and corporate supporters
  • Instituted new “I AM THE CURE” Education program at the Race

    Instituted a new volunteer orientation program

  • Held four Volunteer Orientation sessions throughout the year
  • Trained over 60 new volunteers

    Developed new Speakers' Bureau Training Program

  • Held three Speakers’ Bureau Training sessions
  • 33 new speakers trained

    Received two mission grant awards from Komen National

  • $250,000 to fund additional Community/ STEP grant programs
  • $13,000 to fund the Speakers' Bureau Training program

    Held 10 monthly Lunch and Learn Educational Workshops throughout greater Birmingham and Tuscaloosa

  • Registered over 750 e-Champions to influence federal, state and local government on crucial breast cancer issues.
