Your Money at Work
For more than 20 years, the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation has made great progress in the fight to eradicate breast cancer as a life-threatening disease. The generosity of our donors is vital as we continue our efforts to help breast cancer patients today and invest in the health of future generations.
What's even more important than the money we raise is what we do with it. Our research and community outreach programs are unparalleled. They are making a real difference in the lives of millions of individuals around the globe.
We are extremely careful how we spend the dollars you entrust in our care. As part of this responsibility, in fiscal year 2004-5 we:
- kept administrative and fundraising expenses at 21 percent
- invested $415,000 in grants and programs related to breast cancer research, education, screening and treatment
- spent 75 cents of every dollar raised on mission programs and services
